The Outlander Series was filmed at a number of locations within easy reach of Thorntree Barn.
Outlander is now about to show Series 5 which launches on UK Television in February/March 2020. Although highly secretive we believe that amongst the locations used for this most recent series, according to the Outlander Location website are :
The Coats Memorial Church, in Paisley. According to Outlander Location, Caitriona Balfe was seen at this Grade A listed building in Paisley, in July 2019. Dressed in sixties-style clothing, she filmed some scenes, both inside and outside the church.
Milne Woods in Bridge of Allan. Used for scenes including Murtagh and a large number of extras.
Queen’s Park in Glasgow. The fil crew were seen in the park filming in July 2019
Cambusbarron Village, near Stirling Used for night filming of scenes including Duncan Lacroix / Murtagh (and David Berry / Lord John?).
Cambusmore Estate. An estate in Perthshire set in the most stunning of scenery.
Tyninghame Beach, East Lothian. Film crew seen here in September 2019
The Hermitage, in Perthshire. An area of forest in Perthshire. It was originally designed in the 18th century as a pleasure ground for the Dukes of Atholl.
